WHAT IS FSSC 22000?

FSSC 22000 is a certification scheme developed by the Food Safety Certification Foundation for organizations involved in food production and processing across the entire food supply chain. The FSSC 22000 standard is recognized as equivalent to, and may replace, food safety standards previously acknowledged by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), such as BRC, IFS, SQF, GLOBALG.A.P., and BAP.

The Food Safety Certification Foundation has integrated the requirements of ISO 22000 and PAS 220, together with additional requirements, to establish the FSSC 22000 standard (Food Safety System Certification), which is fully recognized by GFSI.

The FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System provides a comprehensive framework for the effective management of your organization’s food quality and food safety responsibilities. It demonstrates that a company has a robust and effective Food Safety Management System (FSMS) capable of meeting regulatory requirements, the expectations of food business customers, and the needs of consumers.
