RBA (Responsible Business Alliance) – the Code of Conduct of the Responsible Business Alliance, formerly known as the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC).

So, what is RBA?

RBA establishes standards to ensure that working conditions in the electronics industry, or industries where electronics are a key component, and their supply chains are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are conducted in an environmentally responsible and ethical manner.

Considered part of the electronics industry and within the scope of this Code are all organizations that may design, market, manufacture, or provide goods and services used in the production of electronic products. The Code can be voluntarily adopted by any business in the electronics sector and then applied by that business to its supply chain and subcontractors, including providers of contract labor.

To adopt the Code and become a participant (“Participant”), a business must declare its support for the Code and actively pursue compliance with the Code and the standards set forth in it in accordance with a management system.

RBA is committed to regularly seeking input from stakeholders as it continues to develop and implement the Code of Conduct.

The Code includes 5 sections:

  • Sections A, B, and C outline standards for Labor, Health and Safety, and Environment respectively.
  • Section D adds standards related to business ethics.
  • Section E outlines the elements of an acceptable system to manage compliance with this Code.
